Useful tips on avoiding those wrinkles

We all know the importance of sunscreen, keeping out of the midday sun, and using facial creams to keep those wrinkles at bay. But what else can be done to keep them from slowly appearing? Well, the ageing process is natural and some wrinkles will appear as we get older, but we can help to protect our skin and slow down this process. Below we share some useful tips on how to avoid getting those unwanted wrinkles.

Try and sleep on your back

Do you sleep on your side? If yes, then you may want to try sleeping on your back. This is because not only will you be encouraging wrinkles, as your face is on the pillow, but gravity will also be pulling at your skin, not allowing it to rest or regain its natural elasticity. Over time this can cause wrinkles.

Wash your face less often

Now, this may seem a little strange, but washing your face less often can help to keep your skin looking younger. Ideally, wash your face at morning and then before bed, but other than that just try and use water if needed. Using soap and water all the time can strip the skin of its natural oils, and that over time can damage the skin.

Sunglasses are your friend

Even during the winter months, it's a good idea to always carry sunglasses in your bag. Constantly squinting against bright sunlight can cause unwanted wrinkles to form. Also, if you use sunglasses with UV protection, then you'll be helping to protect the delicate skin around your eyes.

Eat more oily fish

Eating fatty fish such as tuna, sardines and salmon can help improve the appearance of your skin. This is because the fatty acids help the skin to retain moisture and to be more supple, which in turn can help to smooth out the skin, eradicating any wrinkles.
