How to keep your skin hydrated 

Has your skin taken a beating this winter? Has it left your skin feeling dry and a bit sensitive? Me too! Due to the dramatic changes in temperature, the biting frost and constant need for central heating, your skin really goes through it during the winter months. The key to this is hydration, hydration, hydration! But, there's a little more to it than just piling on your thickest moisturiser, we're here to talk you through it.

1: You know what we're going to say, drink water and eat well!

We know you've heard this one a hundred times over, but trust us, what you put into your body will be reflected through your skin. This should a year-round rule, but if there's ever a time to drink those six glasses of water, it's now! Make it fun by throwing in some chopped up berries or lemon, and on that note, your food consumption contributes to this too. Eating skin-boosting foods filled with minerals and vitamins can really help.

2: Exfoliate regularly to clear your skin

Exfoliation plays a key role in clearing dead cell build-up that gathers up day to day, exfoliating makes your face smooth and brighter giving you that extra little glow you need. A gentle exfoliator every other day can really improve your skin’s texture and allows for moisturisers and other hydrating products penetrate more deeply and work better, say hello to hydrated skin!

3: Moisturiser your hands, shoulders, knees and toes (and face!) all year round

The answer to hydrated skin, is really to keep is hydrated all year long! Getting in the habit of moisturising your skin every day will really make all the difference. Apply a good moisturiser as soon as you get out of the shower or bath after patting yourself dry to help lock in moisture. Any moisturisers with vitamin E, aloe vera or shea butter are particular to keep your eyes out for in the winter.
